At The Roseland Robin, we keep things simple, fair and transparent. Here’s how we work so you always know what to expect.

Services We Cover

Everyday support across the Roseland Peninsula and surrounding areas, including:

  • Home & garden TLC (from freshen-ups to decluttering and tip runs)

  • Gardening and outdoor care

  • Shopping, errands, collections & deliveries

  • Pet care, welfare checks, dog walking & pet sitting

  • Transport, trips out & chaperone support

  • Companionship & everyday neighbourly support

Not included: personal care or medical/nursing services, or anything outside the scope of our insurance.

Tools & Products

For housekeeping and gardening tasks, clients provide their own cleaning/gardening products and equipment to suit your home, pets and preferences.

Hours & Availability

Mon–Fri: 9am–5pm
Sat–Sun: Flexible — please enquire for availability and rates.

Rates

  • Standard rate: £20 per hour (all services).

  • Pet welfare checks: £15 for short visits under 45 minutes; longer or more involved visits are charged at the standard hourly rate (£20).

  • Weekends, out-of-hours requests or pet sitting may require extra planning and adjusted costs — these will always be agreed in advance.

  • Longer journeys may include travel time charged at £20/hour (see Travel).

Travel

  • Travel within your local village / immediate area is included.

  • Travel outside the Roseland Peninsula and surrounding catchment areas: 50p per mile plus travel time at £20/hour.

  • Extra costs such as parking, shopping or entry tickets are kindly covered by the client (receipts provided).

Payments & Deposits

  • Payment due on completion of each job, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Accepted: cash, bank transfer or card payment.

  • For longer-term work (e.g., extended pet sitting, ongoing contracts, or one-off jobs £75 or more), a 25% non-refundable deposit may be required — always agreed in advance.

Cancellations

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Last-minute cancellations may incur a charge if costs have already been incurred, for example:

  • Travel already started (mileage/time),

  • Parking or tickets already paid,

  • Materials/supplies purchased,

  • Time that cannot reasonably be rebooked at short notice.

We’ll always discuss this openly and fairly with you.

Safety, Access & Keys

  • Please ensure safe access to your home/property and let us know any risks in advance.

  • Keys: stored securely and returned on request. If you ask us in writing to use an unsecured location (e.g., plant pot/under mat), we can’t accept responsibility for any resulting loss or incident.

  • Please let us know if there are cameras (CCTV or smart doorbells, inside or outside) before services are provided.

  • If there are particular arrangements we need to know about (like keys, gates, or pet routines), we’ll agree these together in advance.

Transport

Transport is provided only in our own insured vehicle, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Insurance & Liability

We hold Public Liability Insurance up to £1,000,000 (summary available on request). While we work with care and diligence, we cannot accept liability for circumstances outside reasonable control, areas not covered by our policy, pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, accidental breakages not caused by negligence, or for the health and wellbeing of pets/property beyond our insurance cover. Cover is always subject to the terms, limits and exclusions of our policy.

Confidentiality & Data

All client information is treated confidentially. Keys are stored securely and returned on request. Personal data is only used for service delivery and administration.

Agreements

For clarity and peace of mind, we use a simple Client Agreement that confirms what’s included and the rates we’ve agreed. It keeps everything clear and safe for both parties.
